We need a qualified Chemistry Teacher

Salary offered will depend on the SBS scale, as well as the applicant’s experience and qualifications, but will be approximately 60,000 Baht.

This role requires a skilled and motivated educator who brings both professional certification and relevant teaching experience. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic about supporting students’ academic and personal growth through both classroom teaching and extracurricular involvement.

The teacher will be responsible for delivering Chemistry at the IGCSE and AS/A Level stages in line with the expectations of the Cambridge Curriculum. They will also prepare lessons, develop teaching materials, and manage relevant information using the school’s administrative systems.

Adapting teaching strategies to suit a wide range of learners will be essential, ensuring that students with different needs remain engaged and supported throughout their learning experience. The teacher will also assess student progress, monitor achievement levels, and provide useful feedback to guide improvement.

Maintaining clear expectations in the classroom is important, and the teacher will be expected to observe student performance, behavior, social development, and general well-being. Regular communication with parents and guardians will form part of the role, helping address academic or behavioral issues when they arise.

Close collaboration with colleagues, families, and school staff will be necessary to ensure that each student receives the support they need. The teacher will also attend meetings, engage in professional development, and assist with school events or extracurricular activities.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science, or a related field, along with a valid teaching license. Experience teaching Cambridge levels—including Checkpoint, IGCSE, and AS/A Levels—as well as Thai MoE programs, is expected, along with confidence in conducting laboratory experiments and supporting EAL learners.

The role requires strong communication, classroom management, and problem-solving abilities, and applicants should be fluent in English at a minimum C1 level. Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to student welfare are also important qualities.

Teachers at SBS receive a competitive salary, an inclusive working environment, and the opportunity to join a diverse international team. Additional benefits include a full-time contract of two years for new teachers, followed by one-year renewals, basic insurance after probation, a provident fund, paid holidays, school fee discounts for up to three children, help opening a Thai bank account after obtaining a work permit, and visa support.

To apply, candidates should send a cover letter, CV with a recent photo, two references including their latest line manager, and a short introduction video with a teaching demonstration. Applications should be emailed to the school’s leadership and HR team, using "Application for Chemistry Teacher" as the subject line.
