About the School
KK International School (KKIS) is a growing school located in Mae Sot, near the Thai–Myanmar border. The school follows the British Curriculum and supports students from diverse language and cultural backgrounds, including Thai and Burmese families. KKIS is currently developing a new school campus and continues to expand its primary programme. This position is suitable for teachers who are interested in developing their teaching practice within an international school setting while working closely with local students, families, and colleagues.
Job Summary
The Primary Art Teacher is responsible for teaching art to primary students using the British Curriculum. The teacher will help students develop creativity, confidence, and basic art skills through practical, hands-on lessons. The role also supports cross-curricular learning and works with students of different English language levels.
Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning
Plan and teach enjoyable and age-appropriate art lessons for primary students.
Introduce students to basic art techniques, materials, and creative processes.
Encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence in students’ artwork.
Support simple links between art and other subjects such as history, culture, and daily life.
Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment for all learners.

Assessment & Student Progress
Observe and assess student progress through classwork and completed artwork.
Keep simple records of student work and development.
Share feedback with students and communicate key points to parents when required.
Upload student work and photos of artwork to Google Drive with support if needed.

Classroom & Resources
Keep the art classroom clean, safe, and well organised.
Look after art materials and equipment and inform the school when supplies are needed.
Encourage students to use materials carefully and responsibly.

Teamwork & School Activities
Work with other teachers to support school projects and events.
Help prepare student artwork for displays, exhibitions, and school activities.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.

Communication & Community
Communicate politely and professionally with parents and colleagues.
Take part in parent meetings, school events, and exhibitions when scheduled.

Additional Duties
Follow all school policies, including child protection, health, and safety rules.
Support after-school activities on a rotational basis when required.
Participate in school trips and special school projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Art, Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
Experience:
Teaching experience in primary or early years art is preferred.
New or developing teachers are welcome to apply if they show strong potential and commitment.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of art materials, techniques, and creative activities for children.
Ability to manage a classroom and work well with young learners.
Willingness to learn and adapt to the British Curriculum.
Basic computer skills (Google Drive, photos, simple documents).
Compliance:
Police background check required (Thai or Myanmar).
Two references required.

Salary & Benefits
Salary based on qualifications and experience, following KKIS Staff Policy.
Non-B Visa and Work Permit support (for non-Thai staff).
12-month salary package with housing allowance (where applicable).
