The appointed Head of Department is expected to begin work on May 5th, 2026. Key responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of the department and ensuring that all activities are effectively managed. The role also involves supporting the School Principal with curriculum planning, academic coordination, and maintaining discipline among both staff and students in line with IB PYP and Cambridge standards. Another important duty is ensuring that school timetables are efficiently organized and consistently followed. The successful candidate will also be responsible for organizing and managing sports teams, competitions, and tournaments beyond regular school hours. Additional responsibilities include managing subject assignments, assessments, grading, examinations, and maintaining accurate student records and reports. The Head of Department will supervise staff performance, ensuring effective lesson planning, classroom management, and alignment with the school’s unified curriculum and teaching standards. Collaboration with other departments is essential, along with reporting on academic matters and supporting students’ academic and social development, including basic counseling when necessary. The role requires fostering a shared vision of educational excellence, promoting high expectations among staff and students, and continuously improving departmental outcomes while fulfilling any additional duties assigned by the Principal. Candidates must hold a degree in Sports Science or a related field, possess a valid teaching qualification, have at least two years of relevant teaching and coaching experience, demonstrate strong English proficiency, and show the ability to inspire students across different ages and abilities, alongside solid organizational, athletic, and teamwork skills.
