Whether you are traveling through the country or planning a longer visit, this program offers a meaningful way to connect, serve, and immerse yourself in one of Southeast Asia’s most distinctive regions. KMI Foundation Thailand is inviting volunteers to help with our Free After-School Classes Project, which supports local and disadvantaged children living near the Myanmar border. Your contribution will directly impact the education and well-being of these children. We are looking for volunteers to teach a variety of subjects, including English, computer skills, Thai, Chinese, and Burmese. Classes run three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday—from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at a location near the Mae Sai Bus Station in Chiang Rai. This is a voluntary, unpaid position, but the experience and impact are substantial. You don’t need formal teaching experience—just a willingness to engage with children, a caring attitude, and consistency in attendance. Mae Sai and the surrounding Northern Thailand region, located in the Golden Triangle where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet, offer breathtaking mountain scenery and a peaceful countryside. The area is rich in cultural diversity, featuring unique hill tribe communities and vibrant cross-border traditions. Volunteers will also have the chance to explore lively local markets, sample authentic Thai street food, visit tea plantations, rivers, and scenic landscapes, and experience the region’s temples, villages, and nearby attractions.
