| Write or Paste Ad | NIVA American International School in Bangkok is seeking qualified and experienced Secondary Teachers for immediate vacancies in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science. The positions have become available due to increased student enrollment, and candidates who are qualified to teach more than one subject area are especially encouraged to apply. NIVA is a WASC-accredited international school serving students from Nursery through Grade 12. Located in the Lat Phrao and Bang Kapi area of Bangkok, the school follows an American curriculum aligned with Common Core State Standards and places strong emphasis on academic achievement, student support and child safeguarding. Applicants must demonstrate strong American English proficiency during the interview process and be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues in an academic environment. Teachers should also be confident in modelling appropriate English pronunciation and supporting students in developing their own language skills. Candidates are expected to have at least two years of full-time teaching experience, with experience in an American curriculum or US-accredited school considered an advantage. Teachers should have a strong understanding of Common Core State Standards and be familiar with using MAP or NWEA assessment data to identify learning needs and develop targeted teaching strategies. Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Education or another relevant educational field. A valid teaching licence is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in a specific subject area, such as Science, Mathematics, English or Social Studies, may also be considered if they are willing to complete a Thai or international teaching qualification and obtain a Thai Teaching Licence. The successful teachers will be expected to teach approximately 24 periods per week, with each teaching period lasting 45 minutes. Additional responsibilities will include homeroom duties, student supervision, classroom management, attendance at staff meetings and participation in school events and activities. NIVA offers a starting salary of 60,000 Baht or more per month, depending on the applicant's qualifications and teaching experience. The package also includes approximately 8 to 10 weeks of paid holidays each year, medical insurance and participation in a provident fund retirement scheme.
