Nakornpayap International School (NIS) in Chiang Mai is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic History Teacher for a temporary secondary-school assignment. The position will involve teaching History to students in Grades 9–10 from October 19 to December 18, 2026. The working schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with total compensation of 123,000 baht for the assignment, equivalent to 3,000 baht per working day over 41 working days.

Established in 1993, Nakornpayap International School is a WASC-accredited international school serving students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The school follows a rigorous American-style curriculum and provides an academically focused environment within a diverse and supportive international community in Chiang Mai.

The successful candidate will provide temporary coverage for the school's existing Grades 9–10 History programme. Teachers will use the curriculum materials, lesson plans, resources, and established courses already provided by NIS, allowing the successful applicant to step into an existing programme and maintain continuity of learning throughout the temporary assignment.

The History Teacher will be expected to deliver engaging and appropriately challenging lessons that support student achievement and progress. Responsibilities include teaching the established History curriculum, maintaining effective classroom management, recording student attendance and grades accurately, and monitoring and documenting students' academic development.

The successful teacher should be confident working with secondary students and capable of creating positive and respectful relationships in the classroom. The role also requires appropriate communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding learning progress, classroom matters, and other relevant issues.

During the temporary contract, the teacher will participate in relevant faculty meetings and school activities. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with the History or relevant academic department and school leadership to ensure a smooth transition into the role and maintain consistency in students' learning.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in History, Education, Social Studies, or a related subject. Previous experience teaching secondary History, Social Studies, or a similar subject is required, while familiarity with American or international secondary-school curricula would be an advantage. Excellent spoken and written English is essential.

A valid teaching qualification or professional teaching license is preferred, and previous experience working in an international school environment will be viewed favorably. NIS is looking for a teacher who can quickly adapt to an established programme, manage secondary students effectively, and contribute positively to the school's multicultural community.

The position includes complimentary lunch provided on campus during the assignment. Teachers will work the specified school schedule throughout the temporary period, with the appointment designed to provide short-term classroom coverage and ensure that students continue to receive consistent History instruction while the regular programme is temporarily covered.
